Awareness (2019)
While I was discovering the pavilions of the Dubai Design and Hospitality week exhibition, I stopped enraptured by an intense blue glow, like a magnetic sea.
I was admiring: Corine Van Voorbergen’s Awareness (2019).
I felt exactly, what I later found out, was the artist’s intention. Corine van Voorbergen tried to take the beholder to the depths of the ocean, to the vast nothingness of the moon. She wanted us to imagine ourselves being there, alone at dusk, just you, with only the sound of your own heartbeat. Creating an awareness of who you really are.She really did it! The feeling on my skin: a shiver that awakened my self.
I am not a sacred connoisseur, but if I as a layman managed to have that feeling, it is art for me!
Other works were present, and I certainly cannot forget Oxy Shore (2019). Impeccable workmanship.
But who is Corine Van Voorbergen?
Corine van Voorbergen is an intuitive artist. Through her minimalist round art forms she focuses on the idea of eternal movement. Corine herself says, "I aim to express different emotions and thoughts through my art, while leaving room for interpretation".
Corine builds her works of art with layers and layers of different mediums including acrylic paint, pigment powder and ink and finishes the job with a thin layer of epoxy resin.
The epoxy reflects the surrounding environment back towards the observer, stimulating them to reflect on what they see and, more importantly, on what they feel. Each piece is enclosed in a brass ring. Over time this ring oxidizes and changes.
Corine’s pictorial style is organic.
With her experience Corine is able to manipulate the mediums she uses, but what makes her art unique is that shecannot control all the elements.
Corine describes it as similar to real life: dynamic, uncontrollable circumstances and pure chemistry.

Her abstract paintings are works of art and can also be classified as "collectible design".
From this perspective Corine moves through both fields, presenting her work at art fairs, galleries and interior design events around the world.

Mentre stavo scoprendo i padiglioni della mostra della settimana del Design e dell'Ospitalità di Dubai, mi sono fermata incantata da un intenso bagliore blu, come un mare magnetico.
Stavo ammirando: "Awareness" di Corine Van Voorbergen (2019).
Ho scoperto in seguito che avevo sentito esattamente quello che era l'intenzione dell'artista.
Corine Van Voorbergen ha cercato di portare l'osservatore nelle profondità dell'oceano, nel vasto nulla della luna.
Voleva che immaginassimo di essere lì, soli al crepuscolo, solo tu, con solo il suono del tuo battito cardiaco.
Creare una consapevolezza di chi sei veramente.
L'ha fatto davvero! La sensazione sulla mia pelle: un brivido che mi ha risvegliato.
Non sono un sacro intenditore, ma se come laico riesco a provare quella sensazione, è arte per me!
Erano presenti altre opere e non posso certo dimenticare Oxy Shore (2019). Lavorazione impeccabile.
Ma chi è Corine Van Voorbergen?
Corine van Voorbergen è un artista intuitivo.
Attraverso le sue forme d'arte rotonde minimaliste si concentra sull'idea del movimento eterno.
La stessa Corine dice: "Ho l'obiettivo di esprimere emozioni e pensieri diversi attraverso la mia arte, lasciando spazio all'interpretazione".
Corine costruisce le sue opere d'arte con strati e strati di diversi mezzi tra cui vernice acrilica, polvere di pigmento e inchiostro e termina il lavoro con un sottile strato di resina epossidica.
L'epossidico riflette l'ambiente circostante di nuovo verso l'osservatore, stimolandoli a riflettere su ciò che vedono e, cosa più importante, su ciò che sentono.
Ogni pezzo è racchiuso in un anello di ottone.
Nel tempo questo anello si ossida e cambia. Lo stile pittorico di Corine è organico.
Con la sua esperienza Corine è in grado di manipolare i mezzi che usa, ma ciò che rende unica la sua arte è che non si possono controllare tutti gli elementi.
Corine lo descrive come simile alla vita reale: circostanze dinamiche, incontrollabili e chimica pura.
"Arte e Interior Design dovrebbero complimentarsi a vicenda."
I suoi dipinti astratti sono opere d'arte e possono anche essere classificati come "design da collezione".
Da questa prospettiva Corine si muove attraverso entrambi i campi, presentando il suo lavoro a fiere d'arte, gallerie ed eventi di interior design in tutto il mondo.
